Financial literacy has become an essential component for ensuring financial inclusion and
economic stability, particularly in a rapidly developing country like India. This research study
evaluates the effectiveness of financial literacy programs implemented by major regulatory and
educational institutions, primarily the National Institute of Securities Markets (NISM) and the
Reserve Bank of India (RBI), in Thane and Mumbai Districts of Maharashtra. The study
focuses on key determinants of financial literacy: financial knowledge, financial behaviour,
financial attitude, and awareness of government-led initiatives. From a survey conducted
among 101 respondents, findings indicate low awareness of NISM’s educational initiatives
(only 14.9%) and moderately satisfactory awareness of RBI’s financial literacy campaign,
“RBI Kehta Hai” (around 75%). Additionally, older respondents reflected stronger financial
knowledge—aligning with national survey insights suggesting gradual improvement in
financial literacy since 2013. The study concludes that financial literacy programs require
modernization and wider outreach. Recommendations include leveraging digital education,
collaborating with local institutions, and designing age-targeted initiatives to improve public
financial well-being.

Investment planning plays a crucial role in the financial stability and long-term wealth creation
of individuals and the overall economic development of a country. In India, investment
behavior has evolved significantly due to rising income levels, financial literacy initiatives,
technological advancements, and the availability of diversified financial instruments. This
research examines the investment patterns and planning behavior of individuals in India,
focusing on preferences, objectives, risk perception, and awareness levels.
The study analyzes traditional investment avenues such as bank deposits, gold, real estate, and
insurance alongside modern financial instruments including mutual funds, equities, bonds, and
digital investment platforms. Primary data collected from 60 respondents reveals that safety,
liquidity, and returns are the dominant factors influencing investment decisions. While
traditional instruments remain popular, especially among risk-averse investors, there is a
growing inclination toward mutual funds and equity markets among younger and financially
aware individuals.
The findings highlight that although awareness regarding investment planning has increased,
gaps remain in long-term financial planning, diversification, and risk management. The study
concludes that structured investment planning, supported by financial education and
professional guidance, is essential for enhancing financial security and promoting sustainable
economic growth in India.
This paper investigates the impact of macroeconomic announcements on gold prices
(XAU/USD) in the forex market and the corresponding behavioral responses of retail investors,
with particular focus on the Indian market. Using a mixed-methods approach combining a
primary survey of 100 respondents with secondary data analysis, the study finds that interest
rate decisions by the U.S. Federal Reserve and inflation data (CPI) are the most influential
drivers of gold price volatility. Correlation analysis yielded r = 0.76, confirming a strong
positive relationship between macroeconomic news and gold price movements. Both
hypotheses of the study are accepted: macroeconomic announcements significantly affect gold
price volatility, and investor awareness of such announcements significantly influences trading
behavior. The study also reveals that 40% of retail traders rely primarily on social media for
financial information, underscoring the need for structured financial literacy programs. The
findings contribute to bridging macroeconomic theory with behavioral finance in the context
of Indian forex gold trading.

efficiency and decision-making in the Indian capital market. The capital market plays a vital
role in economic growth by connecting investors and businesses, and with the advancement of
technology, AI has become an important tool in transforming financial operations. The study
highlights how AI-driven systems such as algorithmic trading, robo-advisors, and predictive
analytics are improving trading speed, accuracy, and risk management. It also examines how
AI reduces human bias and supports data-driven decision-making. At the same time, the study
identifies challenges such as regulatory concerns, cybersecurity risks, and lack of transparency
in AI systems. Overall, the research concludes that AI is significantly improving the efficiency
of the Indian capital market while also creating the need for proper regulation and responsible
implementation.

Financial security after retirement is a critical aspect of personal wellbeing, especially for
working women who often face career breaks, wage disparities, and longer life expectancy.
This research aims to assess the level of awareness, financial literacy, planning behavior, and
retirement preparedness among working women in Thane and Mumbai districts of
Maharashtra, India. A structured questionnaire was administered to 101 respondents, and the
results indicate that although most women possess partial or full awareness of retirement
planning, a significant gap persists in actual investment behavior. Income limitations,
insufficient exposure to financial schemes, and lack of professional guidance contribute to
lower engagement in retirement investments. The study highlights the urgency to strengthen
financial literacy programs, workplace education, and policy frameworks to support better
retirement planning for women.
